BMC Health Committee chairman Harish Bhandirge has demanded a stay on the proposed five-year contract extension for The Parel Chemist at Mumbai's KEM Hospital, alleging possible irregularities. He questioned the absence of fresh tenders despite plans for a generic medicine outlet. In a letter to Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, he sought an inquiry before the October 22 committee meeting.
