Parenting is often reduced to providing the best education, comfortable living and material security. These responsibilities matter, but they do not, by themselves, make a child responsible, compassionate or emotionally secure. Responsible parenting begins where provision ends.

It is about presence, example, discipline and the willingness to understand the world children are growing up in. In Kashmir, as elsewhere, families are passing through rapid social and technological change. Children are exposed to influences that parents themselves may not fully understand.
